Monday morning's private meeting

With permission of Farrell Larson, who wrote the following message regarding a private meeting called by Idaho Power officials with representatives of Idaho and Oregon grassroots organizations:

After Idaho Power has spent probably hundreds of thousands of dollars to get to this point, they will not willingly abandon their entire plan and accept ours.

I expect the meeting Monday will be to disarm our efforts by offering to start talks which would ultimately pit one land owner against their neighbor. By doing this Idaho Power will be able to salvage some of their efforts and of course, some of the money they have already spent.

I firmly believe that Jean Findley has more knowledge about where the new routes should be than all of the out of state experts that Idaho Power can bring in. There is an old saying that an expert is ANYONE fifty miles from home. This Idaho Power plan proves that statement. I further believe that Jean and Roger Findley should be hired by Idaho Power as consultants.

I am very encouraged that both Roger and Bruce will attend this Monday morning meeting. I trust these fine gentlemen to represent our entire interests, not allow Idaho Power to divide and conquer this valley.

Thanks,
Farrell Larson
